Young Greens stand with the Windrush generation

People not numbers

The Young Greens have today expressed their support for the Windrush generation against the background of a number of reported threats of deportation. [1]

This is following a petition [2] for the Government to discuss this gaining over 100,000 signatures.

Young Greens Co-Chair Ben Parker said:

“The continual deportation of the windrush generation is another appalling act our government has made against migrants. The windrush generation helped build our society to how it is today and deporting them to the countries some have never been to is beyond cruel. We urge all young greens to sign the petition for a debate in Parliament on this, and write to their member of Parliament over the increased threats of deportation over the past days, weeks and months.”

The Young Greens have a commitment to standing up for migrants rights, and have been working closely with organisations over the previous years to support migrants, as part of their people not numbers campaign. [3]
