The Young Greens, the youth and student wing of the Green Party, elected a new Executive Committee for 2026/2027 at their annual convention, following a year of surging youth membership to 50 000.
Leading Young Greens councillors, activists and organisers will take up 2 Co-Chair Positions and 17 Officer roles ready to deliver a bold agenda for THE party for young people and students.
New Co-Chairs: “Radical, Hard-working and Deeply Inspiring Global Majority Women”
Stepping in as Co-Chairs are Cyn Muthoni, local Oxfordshire councillor and former Young Greens International Officer, and Jo Dowbor, Islington Green Party council candidate and Greens for Palestine co-founder.
The new co-chairs have pledged their commitment to eco-socialism, celebrating their election as a platform to ‘empower and spotlight the work of brilliant young greens delivering real change in their local communities.‘
Together they plan to train hundreds of new youth into green political leadership, build stronger links between Young Greens and grassroots civil society, and continue expanding the movement’s activism and principled leadership challenging the status quo.

The Executive Committee
Alongside the new co-chairs, the newly elected committee includes officers for:
Treasury, Press, Digital Communications, Elections, Campaigns, Political Education, and International.
The committee has also elected dedicated representatives for:
Disability, Trans Youth, Global Majority, Women and Global Women’s Majority and Under 18’s, a Democracy and Accountability Committee and Green Students Committee Co-Convenors.
The Year Ahead
The new committee will spend the coming year building opportunities and events for Young Greens members nationwide, with a focus on developing skills, unity, and organisation.
The Young Greens are inviting anyone interested in expanding the youth platform of the Green Party, shaping youth policy for the Greens and building a new politics of HOPE across the UK to get in touch and get involved.
