With Brexit negotiations taking place, xenophobia and racism on the rise, and the right wing populist movement growing on a global scale, where are the voices of migrants and refugees?
In our People Not Numbers Campaign we aim to explore the different conceptions that people have about freedom of movement, and its importance in an increasingly changing world. We want to listen to refugees and migrants and empower them to protect and promote their human rights. And finally, we want to transform the attitudes of politicians, encouraging them to recognise migrants and refugees as real people with real stories, and not a simple statistic.
Join the Young Greens at Spring Conference as we launch our latest campaign; People Not Numbers!
On Thursday 30th of March in Room 3, we will be unveiling our campaign with a number of special guests including Jean Lambert MEP, Terry Reintke MEP, and three Young Green migrants/refugees. Our panel will be discussing the question: why is freedom of movement important for young people?
Following the panel discussion we will hold a Global Young Greens Social night where we will invite delegations to contribute with a performance about their favourite aspects of their own culture!
